I'm Jenni, the designer and entrepreneur behind Chulo. I work at the intersection of strategic thinking and hands-on craft. Chulo is my company, which means every client works directly with me: someone who holds both the big picture and the details, and who commits to a project as if it were their own.
Over the years, I've led design across industries, from marine technology and energy to digital health and AI, taking products from early concept through to polished, production-ready design systems. My background spans UX, UI, service design, branding, and creative direction, and I bring an analytical eye to every layer of the work.
What tends to define my collaborations is how deeply I integrate. I don't stay on the outside. I learn the product, the team, and the customer, and treat the shared goal as my own. That's why many of my client relationships last for years, and not a few have turned into friendships along the way.

Psst… but the domain says Chambao. What's that?
While Chulo is the name of the company, I’m not the company. I’m just me: Jenni. Therefore, I've never felt much need to build a brand around the name Chulo. It's simply the legal entity behind my work.
After years as a consultant, most recently in marine technology, I decided to expand Chulo into boat rental for two purposes: to give the next generation a chance to learn real responsibility and gain valuable work experience, and to see first-hand, as a rental operator, how the marine technology I've spent years designing works in real use. Chambao is the name of our rental boat, and it has since become the name of the whole rental business.
Fun fact: Chambao is Spanish for a makeshift beach shelter of poles, reeds, or canvas, the kind you find on the beaches of southern Spain, giving shade while letting the sea breeze through.
What's on the horizon
Design has always been more than the work I do for others. It's also my playground for concepts and ideas. Lately, one of them has grown into something of my own: an app now taking shape for iPhone, where thoughtful design meets smart technology. More to share soon.
